QBE swoops up Beazley veteran for global head of cyber role

QBE Insurance Group has tapped a veteran Beazley executive with more than two decades of experience, including at AIG, for the newly created position of global head of cyber.

Serene Davis (pictured) has been appointed as the global head of cyber for QBE, and will be based in Southern California. She will be responsible for managing the enterprise's unified cyber strategy, including risk assessment, pricing, claims, product and service offerings, and marketing. Davis will be accountable for the global performance of QBE's cyber business.

Davis has over two decades of experience in the industry, most recently serving as Beazley's regional manager of the West and head of the Los Angeles office, and was part of the company's Cyber Risks Global Strategy Group. Prior to spending 17 years at Beazley, she worked at AIG and Federated Insurance.

QBE Group CEO Andrew Horton said he was excited to have Davis join QBE.

“Cyber risk is a critical component of risk management for our brokers and customers, and we want to meet this need through a globally consistent cyber insurance strategy and become a market-leading cyber insurer. We’re delighted Serene will lead this important work for QBE,” Horton said.
