Tysers lures Aon talent to drive political violence expansion
Lloyd's broker Tysers has hired a senior Aon executive to help expand its political violence and terrorism portfolio and to drive growth.
James Lucas (pictured) will join the firm as associate director. His appointment will be the latest in a series of senior hires as Tysers continues to expand its presence in London and globally. In 2021, Tysers made a number of new hires to further strengthen its marine, construction and casualty offerings.
Lucas will join from Aon Benfield where he is responsible for developing the Latin America and EMEA terrorism and political violence solutions across Aon’s network.
Based in London, Lucas will join a global team that will be led by Ciara Appleford at Tysers. He will use his broking experience, market expertise and technical ability to help deepen Tysers’ client relationships both in the London market and internationally.
Jason Collins, co-head of global broking, markets and business development at Tysers, said: “It’s great to welcome James to the Tysers’ team. His appointment is indicative of our strategic ambition and commitment to meeting the increasing demand for specialist insurance expertise and technical skills across international markets.”
Richard Macfarlane, managing director of international property & casualty at Tysers, commented: “I am delighted that James is joining our Political Violence and Terrorism team. As a market-leading broker we are continuing to expand our offering in this specialist area to ensure that we continue to provide our clients with the tailored solutions and superior service that Tysers is renowned for.”
