Tysers poaches Lockton VP to drive growth in London and overseas
Lloyd’s insurance broker Tysers has hired a Lockton vice president to lead a global team and play a key role in driving growth across its broking hubs in London, Dubai, Miami, and Singapore.
Ciara Appleford’s (pictured) appointment as political violence and terrorism lead is the latest in a series of senior hires as Tysers continues to expand its presence in London and international markets. Earlier this year, the broker made a number of new hires to further strengthen its marine, construction and casualty offerings.
Appleford has over 13 years of broking experience, market expertise and technical ability that Tysers hopes will help to deepen its client relationships both locally and with the London market. She most recently served as vice president at Lockton (MENA), and previously worked at Crescent Global in London as director political violence. Previously, she also held senior roles at brokers RK Harrison and Arthur J Gallagher.
Clive Buesnel, chief executive officer of Tysers, said: “It’s fantastic that Ciara is joining the Tysers’ Team. Her appointment reflects our continued growth strategy and reflects the need for insurance expertise in international markets with locally-based experts who are skilled at placing business into the London Market and global hubs.”
Richard Macfarlane, managing director international property & casualty, Tysers added: “We look forward to Ciara driving Tysers’ Political Violence growth in our key broking hubs. Ciara brings outstanding market insight and broking expertise and will ensure the superior client service that is synonymous with Tysers.”
Appleford commented: “I am very excited to be joining such a well-regarded and ambitious broker. It’s a great opportunity to work with a dynamic and talented team to drive business expansion in London and across international markets.”
