Everest Re swoops on Swiss Re for treaty casualty & surety lead
Everest Re has tapped a Swiss Re executive to lead the strategic direction and underwriting strategy of its treaty casualty & surety business.
Jiten Voralia will join the company as senior vice president and head of treaty casualty & surety in June. He will report directly to Jill Beggs, head of North America Reinsurance.
Voralia succeeds Everest Reinsurance veteran Dennis Alba, who is retiring after a 40-year career in the industry.
Voralia has more than two decades of diverse reinsurance experience. Prior to Everest, he served as Swiss Re’s head of US global casualty treaty underwriting, where he drove bottom line profitability for the division’s underwriting portfolio. He also led the US casualty operation and was a member of the global casualty executive team while he was joint interim head of US casualty treaty underwriting.
He also served in various actuarial and casualty treaty underwriting roles while at Swiss Re including head of pricing in Asia, Australia and New Zealand as well as head of casualty treaty underwriting for Australia, New Zealand and the U.S. Before Swiss Re, Voralia worked as a reinsurance pricing actuary at Aon (previously Benfield) in London and Sydney and as a general insurance actuarial consultant at PwC in London.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jiten to our Everest team. His deep technical actuarial and underwriting background combined with broad experience in the U.S. and globally brings a unique and well-rounded perspective to our Treaty Casualty & Surety portfolio,” said Beggs.
“Jiten’s leadership and skillset will be invaluable in the current environment, helping us to identify and respond to the rapidly evolving needs of our brokers and clients. I look forward to working closely with Jiten as we continue to strengthen our Treaty Casualty & Surety portfolio with new and innovative solutions.”
