Swiss Re hiring tech talent to expand data innovation hub in India
Global reinsurance giant Swiss Re’s analytical and innovation hub, Swiss Re Global Business Solutions (GBS) India, is scooping up tech talent from the market as it plans to launch a new centre in Hyderabad this September.
Swiss Re said it is currently hiring talent across data science, engineering, among other diverse skilled streams for its two GBS locations - Bangalore and Hyderabad.
The new GBS centre strengthens Swiss Re’s commitment to India, as well as its digital, data and technology capabilities globally.
Russell Higginbotham (pictured), CEO Reinsurance Solutions at Swiss Re said: “Data and technology is core to how we do business. It underpins growth and product innovation, to help societies manage and mitigate risk. Investment into technology goes hand in hand with building stable, sustainable teams comprising skills, services and knowledge that create value for our business. We feel Hyderabad is an excellent new location for Swiss Re to provide this platform.”
Pravina Ladva, group chief digital & technology officer, Swiss Re, added: “Data is essential fuel for Swiss Re's business. By strengthening our data and digital capabilities, employing our modelling expertise, and developing new data-driven services, we can predict and mitigate risk before an event even happens. Swiss Re is already well-positioned in India and expanding our presence with Hyderabad as a new location will provide an opportunity to onboard expertise in key digital roles, which will enable our business and help our clients succeed.”
GBS India was established in 2001 in Bangalore – Swiss Re's third-largest office location – to operate as a centre of excellence with a focus on innovation, driving business impact and building global expertise/capabilities.
Amit Kalra, head of Swiss Re GBS India, commented: “ Swiss Re GBS India's capabilities enable the company to deliver quality re/insurance services and solutions. With its significant data, digital and tech talent pool, Hyderabad creates new opportunities that complement our existing hub in Bangalore. We look forward to welcoming new talent from the Telangana region, as we shape the future of re/insurance through data insights and innovative insurtech solutions.”
