CAC Specialty reveals leadership changes ahead of departure
Specialty insurance brokerage CAC Specialty has lifted its financial lines claims leader to the position of chief legal officer, replacing John Tanner who is departing from the business.
Carrie O’Neil (pictured) is the new chief legal officer for Cobbs Allen Capital Holdings. She will be transitioning her client work to her successor Jen Jacobson.
O’Neil is said to be a management liability expert with more than 20 years of insurance industry experience. She started her career in corporate law, serving as in-house counsel for Vail Resorts and a private start-up company in San Francisco. She then transitioned to the insurance industry, where she held senior executive positions at JLT Specialty, Berkshire Hathaway and Aon. She most recently led CAC Specialty’s financial lines claims practice.
Tanner, currently chief legal officer and claims leader, will be leaving his position as CLO in mid-April. For the past four years, he has led the legal & compliance department, and helped facilitate the merger of CAC Specialty and Cobbs Allen, forming Cobbs Allen Capital Holdings. In addition, he served as an advisor to the executive committee and Board.
"I would like to thank John for his outstanding tenure at CAC Specialty. Since our founding several years ago, he has played a crucial role in our growth, helping us become a top 50 broker,” said Michael Rice, CEO of CAC Specialty. "Moving forward, we're thrilled to introduce Carrie O'Neil as our new Chief Legal Officer for Cobbs Allen Capital Holdings. She will continue John's legacy of ambitious growth and professional excellence, and we're eager to see her contributions to the team."
