Neon bolsters underwriting management with former AXA Art CEO

Specialist Lloyd's insurer Neon has expanded its underwriting management team with the appointment of Annabel Fell-Clark and the promotion of Andrew Dougall.

Fell-Clark joins as underwriting manager, and will be responsible for the oversight of underwriting governance. She has over two decades of insurance experience, including as CEO of AXA Art, where she was responsible for UK, Asia, Scandinavia and International business via the London Market broker network. Her previous roles include underwriting positions at Hiscox and Ascot.

Having joined Neon as head of casualty in 2016, Dougall has been promoted to deputy active underwriter. The company said that Dougall has been instrumental in re-positioning its casualty portfolio since joining and has led initiatives to generate new business opportunities. He will now have an expanded remit and support the chief underwriting officer to oversee Neon’s underwriting portfolio.

Martin Reith, CEO Neon Underwriting, commented: "I am delighted to announce these changes which enhance our already strong underwriting management team. Annabel has been working closely with us as a consultant in recent months and brings a wealth of leadership and underwriting experience. In addition, her specialism in the Art and High Net Worth segments will prove vital as we continue to build out our product offering."

"Andrew has played an integral role in Neon’s progress over the last year and is a shining example of the exceptional talent and energy within the business," Reith added. "These announcements demonstrate both the importance that Neon places on strict underwriting discipline and also our entrepreneurial spirit, promoting internal talent and attracting high-calibre individuals from the market."
