MS Amlin nabs marine and energy complex claims expert from QBE

Lloyd’s global re/insurer  MS Amlin has strengthened its natural resources claims expertise with a senior hire from QBE Insurance.

Erman Hassan (pictured) will join MS Amlin in August as head of natural resources claims. He will report to Clare Constable, MS Amlin’s head of claims.

With more than a decade of industry experience, Hassan brings substantial claims-handling expertise to the business. Specialising in marine and energy, he has a reputation for handling and resolving large, complex claims.

Hassan joins from QBE Insurance, where alongside his management responsibilities in marine & energy claims, he set up a specialist team responsible for driving through operational efficiencies within complex claims across all lines of business, deploying automation and enhanced data analytics to improve outcomes.

He joined QBE in 2016 and is an active member of QBE’s Joint Energy Claims Committee. Hassan also represents the insurer at the Lloyd’s Market Association and the International Underwriting Association. Prior to QBE, he was a loss adjuster at Lloyd Warwick International and Charles Taylor Adjusting.
