MS Amlin nabs cat risk expert from Guy Carp to navigate ‘complex’ challenges

Lloyd’s global re/insurer  MS Amlin has bolstered its risk analytics expertise with a senior hire from broker Guy Carpenter as it looks to strengthen the catastrophe risk management and underwriting performance of the business.

Jessica Turner will join MS Amlin at the end of June as head of risk analytics. She will report to Martin Burke, director of underwriting performance.

Turner comes from Guy Carpenter where she spent over four years as a managing director and head of international catastrophe advisory, where she was responsible for leading a team of natural catastrophe experts providing model advisory, evaluation and adjustment analytics as well as climate change physical risk quantification for all major perils in the EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions.

Prior to that, Turner spent over two years at Lloyds Banking Group as a senior manager and has also held positions at Willis Re and RMS. Turner holds a Ph.D. in atmospheric science and is a certified catastrophe risk analyst.

With more than a decade of industry experience, Turner has substantial expertise in the development of catastrophe risk management across different geographies and business lines.

Burke, director of underwriting performance, MS Amlin said: “As we look to navigate the complex challenges of our ever-changing world, we must seek out new perspectives and expertise. By expanding our talent pool to include those with cutting-edge skills in analytics, modelling, and catastrophe risk, we can provide more innovative insights and solutions for our clients. I am therefore delighted to welcome Jessica to our business.”
