Lockton Re swoops for Aon talent ahead of ‘complex renewal season’
Lockton Re, the global reinsurance business of broker Lockton, has hired another senior talent from Aon as it continues to expand its global presence in the retrocession marketplace.
Ben Ryan (Pictured) has joined as a senior broker within the non-marine retrocession & property specialty team in London.
Ryan started his career as part of the graduate programme at Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions. He subsequently joined the non-marine retrocession team in 2015 and spent time in New York, focussing on retrocession clients in the US and Bermuda before moving back to London in 2022.
“Ben is a great addition to our expanding global presence in the Retrocession marketplace,” said Matt Foreman, Lockton Re’s head of non-marine retrocession & property specialty. “His excellent experience broking and operating in the London, USA and Bermuda marketplaces will enhance our holistic offering and geographical reach to clients. Ben’s analytical approach and broad network will be a huge asset as we continue to grow our division and seek to bring innovative structures and solutions to clients. We are all excited to be working with Ben as we head into a very busy and complex renewal season at 1st January.”
Robert Bisset, chairman of global retrocession & property specialty, Bermuda & Market Capital, Lockton Re, added: “Ben is a fantastic addition to not only the Retrocession and Property Specialty team but our entire global Lockton Re team. His decision to join exemplifies our ability to continue to attract top talent in our industry. We are building a leading reinsurance broker focussed on client-service, creativity, analytics, and execution. Ben’s boundless energy, contagious enthusiasm, global perspective and strong intellect complement our proposition as we grow our client base.”
