Lloyd’s broker swoops on rival Tyser to build new property/specialty team
Independent Lloyd's insurance broker Besso Insurance Services has formed a new property and speciality team by hiring several senior brokers from rival Tyser.
Besso is a part of the insurance operations of BGC Partners and is set to join The Ardonagh Group as part of its acquisition revealed in May this year.
The company has hired Matthew Sinclair and David Pratt-Sinclair as director and executive producer, respectively, based in London. They will be joined by Gemma Barnes and Joe Marston as senior broker and broker, respectively.
Sinclair has more than 25 years of industry experience. He joins from Tyser, where since 2012 he held the role of director of the North American and international speciality division.
Pratt-Sinclair previously held the role of director and ambassador of Tyser’s North American and international speciality division and brings more than four decades of international market experience to Besso.
Both Barnes and Marston also join Besso from Tyser where they most recently served as senior broker and broker, respectively.
The new team will specialise in property and liability risks. Within property, it will focus on open market facultative property risks in the US, Caribbean and international markets, while liability will focus on open market and facility based smaller risks globally excluding mainland US.
Russ Nichols (pictured), joint chief executive officer of Besso, said: “Matthew, David, Gemma and Joe are fantastic additions to Besso. With decades worth of combined experience and a deep understanding of the property and liability markets, they will bolster our global capability, in addition to creating one of the largest property teams working with the Caribbean market. Their impressive market reputation and industry connections will enhance our offering and I look forward to working with all the team.”
