Gallagher names group MD of broking business in Channel Islands and Isle of Man
Insurance brokerage and risk management firm Gallagher has appointed James Anderson as group managing director of Rossborough Insurance, its personal and commercial lines broking business based in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man.
Anderson will succeed Clive de la Cour with effect from 1 January 2018. Having led the Jersey business for 10 years and the wider Rossborough Group for five, de la Cour will take on the new role of chairman of Rossborough in January, continuing to look after his clients.
Anderson brings more than 20 years’ UK insurance experience to his new role and joined Gallagher three years ago. He is currently managing director of Brand Partners, part of Gallagher’s UK small business & personal lines division, which develops and delivers tailored insurance schemes for affinity partners including banks, retail brands, trade associations and membership organisations.
Anderson’s promotion will also see David Birch, currently sales director for Gallagher’s banking partnerships in the UK, step up to become MD of Brand Partners. Birch will continue to lead the banking partnerships while expanding his role to grow the wider Brand Partners business.
Michael Rea, CEO of UK retail, said: "Under Clive’s leadership, Rossborough has continued to be the trusted broker of choice for island residents and businesses — something James will now take forward with the same, shared focus on customer experience. In James and David’s promotions, it’s also great to see how the talent within our UK team allows us to find next generation leaders within the business."
Anderson commented: "I’m both excited and privileged to be appointed as Group Managing Director of Rossborough Insurance. It has an unrivalled presence across the Islands with a strong reputation for trust and professionalism among its clients. The calibre within the team is both impressive and encouraging and I’ll look to bring my own experience to help write the next and new successful chapter of the Rossborough story."
De la Cour added: "With James’ extensive leadership experience, reputation for developing innovative insurance solutions and his ability to develop insurance talent, he is the right person to lead Rossborough in the next stage of its development."
