Everest Re draws AXA XL veteran to expand casualty reinsurance in UK
Everest Re has tapped a 10-year AXA XL veteran to lead its casualty reinsurance business in the UK and help advance its growth strategy overseas.
David Mann (Pictured) will join the company as vice president, head of casualty for Everest Reinsurance (Bermuda), UK branch, effective January 2023. He will be based in London, reporting to Mark Wallace, vice president, deputy CUO and head of long tail.
In his new role, Mann will lead the growth of the London casualty treaty portfolio and professional lines, supporting the company’s strategic international reinsurance initiatives.
Prior to Everest, Mann spent a decade at AXA XL where he led the London liability team and gained domestic market experience. Earlier in his career, Mann served as a UK casualty reinsurance broker at Guy Carpenter and also held roles at Markel International and The Hartford.
“David brings more than two decades of deep global and domestic casualty reinsurance experience with intimate knowledge of evolving client needs,” said Artur Klinger, head of international reinsurance. “He will play a key role in reinforcing our commitment to deliver best-in-class solutions to clients and brokers and in advancing our long-term growth strategy.”
“David is an excellent addition to our growing bench of deep talent,” added Paul Tester, head of the UK branch and chief underwriting officer. “Highly regarded for both his excellent reputation as a casualty treaty underwriter and his strong client and broker relationships, David will be instrumental as we continue to advance our casualty growth strategy internationally.”
