Coverys Managing Agency, which looks after Lloyd's syndicates 1975, 1991 and 3330, appoints David Hipkin as a non-executive director
Coverys Managing Agency, the Lloyd’s managing agent of Syndicates 1975, 1991 and 3330, has appointed David Hipkin as a non-executive director.
Coverys said that Hipkin brings nearly four decades of senior underwriting and management experience in the Lloyd’s market to Coverys. He began his career as a broker at CT Bowring & Co, before joining I C Agnew Underwriting in 1986.
In 2005, Hipkin joined Arch Insurance Company (Europe) and in 2008 was appointed as chief underwriting officer of their combined Lloyd’s and company market operations. He retired from Arch in 2016 and now serves as a consultant to a number of businesses in the London market.
Robin McCoy, chief executive of Coverys, said, “I am delighted to welcome David to the Coverys board. He has an exceptional reputation as an underwriter and leader. We have a number of new initiatives in the pipeline for the Managing Agency and Syndicate 1975 which will ensure we maintain the momentum we have built up since our launch at the beginning of 2018. David’s specialist underwriting background and experience will be invaluable as we continue to expand our market share and develop these new areas.”
