Chaucer taps TransRe A&H treaty underwriter to build London capabilities
Specialty re/insurer Chaucer has appointed Sarfraz Pivano as accident & health treaty underwriter in the reinsurance division.
Sarfraz joins from Transatlantic Reinsurance Company (TransRe) where he was a senior A&H treaty underwriter.
Pivano will write general personal accident, life, disability, medical expenses and travel reinsurance and report to Chris Baker, head of specialty treaty at Chaucer.
Chaucer said the appointment supports its plans to broaden the A&H reinsurance offering.
Baker said: “I am pleased to welcome Sarfraz to Chaucer. He has a wealth of global A&H treaty underwriting knowledge and a great reputation with brokers and clients. His appointment increases our commitment to being a lead market for A&H treaty and will enable us to meet market needs more efficiently and effectively.”
Sarfraz Pivano, accident & health treaty underwriter at Chaucer, added: “I am delighted to join Chaucer’s Specialty Treaty team, and I look forward to working with Chris Baker in London and Ewa Douwe Hut in Copenhagen to develop Chaucer’s A&H treaty centre of excellence for brokers and clients.”
