Chaucer appoints China Re P&C exec Dr Zuo Huiqiang as new non exec
Specialty re/insurer Chaucer has appointed Dr Zuo Huiqiang, the deputy general manager of China Re P&C, as a non-executive director of Chaucer Syndicates, the group’s Lloyd’s managing agency.
At China Re P&C Huiqiang has overall responsibility for China Re’s international businesses and further development worldwide. He also has overall management responsibility for the Innovative Business initiative, which is driving business model, product and customer service breakthroughs at China Re.
Huiqiang joined China Re Group in 1999 and has since held a number of senior management roles. He is currently chief international business officer of China Re Group and chairman of the Board of China Re Catastrophe Risk Management Company. He is an expert in seismic hazard analysis and earthquake loss evaluation and has a PhD in earthquake engineering.
