BMS taps Aon talent to grow PE, M&A and tax insurance offering
Specialist re/insurance broker BMS has hired a mergers & acquisitions (M&A) insurance expert from Aon to help accelerate the growth of its private equity, M&A and tax related insurance offering.
Stephan Simon joins the company as a director and head of warranty and indemnity insurance in the private equity, M&A and tax insurance division. He will report to Tan Pawar (pictured), managing director and head of the unit in London.
Simon has over 17 years’ M&A and legal experience as a corporate lawyer and warranty & indemnity broker. He joins BMS from Aon UK where he held the role of director, M&A and Transaction Solutions since 2015. Simon advises clients around the strategic use of transaction liability insurance on M&A deals, and the structuring and placement of large insurance programmes in the international insurance markets.
Prior to Aon, Simon was group legal manager at Legal & General Group where he played a key role in advising the group on a range of commercial deals, funds distribution and regulatory compliance, specifically within the insurance division. He is also a qualified lawyer and worked in the corporate department at Pinsent Masons from the years 2006 – 2012.
