Atrium looks to Aon Re to bolster casualty treaty business

Lloyd's specialist insurer  Atrium has bolstered its casualty treaty team by hiring a senior broker from Aon Re.

Toby Russell (pictured) has joined Atrium Underwriting, the managing agent for Lloyd’s Syndicate 609, as casualty treaty underwriter reporting to Andrew Winyard, head of casualty treaty.

Russell has worked for the past eight years as a broker within Aon Re's North American casualty treaty team.

Winyard said: “Toby has spent the past 8 years as part of the Aon North American Casualty Team and has demonstrated his strong understanding of the US Casualty Treaty market. I’m looking forward to working closely with him on our account, and have every confidence in his ability to be a strong addition to the team as we look to profitably develop our portfolio of business.”

Russell commented: “ Atrium has a long track record of stand-out performance as a Syndicate, and I am excited to be making the step into the underwriting side of the business at this time in the market cycle to work with Andrew. I am delighted to be part of the team and look forward to contributing to Atrium’s profitable growth in the years ahead.”
