AIG’s Validus Re promotes Wehmeyer to EVP

Bermuda-based reinsurer  Validus Re, the reinsurance arm of  AIG, has promoted Sven Wehmeyer to executive vice president, head of international.

Wehmeyer succeeds Steve Bardill, who retires later this year. He will report to chief executive officer Chris Schaper.

Wehmeyer will maintain his current position responsible for Validus Re’s non-US property reinsurance and overseas offices.
