AFL taps UIB senior brokers Ritson and Draper to lead property and energy expansion
Independent Lloyd’s broker AFL Insurance Brokers has hired experienced brokers Mark Ritson and Peter Draper as directors of international property and energy.
Both the executives come from United Insurance Brokers (UIB), where Ritson was most recently executive director of the non-marine division, while Draper was head of property.
AFL UK CEO Jonathan Bines said: “I am delighted that Mark and Peter, senior brokers with a wealth of experience, have joined AFL to lead our International Property and Energy efforts. These are two high calibre individuals who have carved out impressive careers working with producers and markets around the world and it is exciting to be able to add such significant resource to our growing business.”
AFL chairman Toby Esser added: “There is growing demand for truly independent brokers in the global property and energy insurance classes – with solutions that do not rely on risk bundled facilities, and instead put the client first and harness expert insights to navigate a changing market.
"Mark and Peter represent exactly the kind of expertise we are building AFL’s business around, particularly in a continually challenging market. Clients need expert knowledge and insight in dealing with underwriters in order to benefit from the bespoke Property and Energy coverage that our market can offer – and this expertise and agility is held more than ever with independent brokers like us.”
