Aeolus hires Elementum's Jagoda as partner and portfolio manager

Aeolus Capital Management, a Bermuda-based manager of insurance-linked securities (ILS), has appointed Nicholas Jagoda as partner and portfolio manager.

He will join Aeolus after fulfilling his obligations with Elementum Advisors, where he is currently a partner and portfolio manager.

Jagoda first became involved with investments in collateralised reinsurance when he joined Stark Investments in 2006. He was part of the original team that launched Elementum in 2009 and played a key role in the subsequent founding of Elementum (Bermuda) in 2011.

Andrew Bernstein, managing partner and CEO, said: “I have long considered Nick to be one of the stand‐out portfolio managers in the ILS asset class and I am thrilled to be adding someone of his caliber to Aeolus. Our ability to attract best in class talent continues to enhance Aeolus’ capabilities as a premier manager of reinsurance risk. We are excited to welcome Nick to our Portfolio Management team, Operating Committee and Partnership.”
