Monte Carlo Rendez-Vous de Septembre provides an opportunity to keep the spotlight on the importance and need for diversity in our industry, said Renaud Guidée, chief executive officer of AXA XL Reinsurance.
AXA XL hosted a women’s networking breakfast at the Rendez-Vous on Wednesday, September 11. The breakfast kicked off with a speech from Nancy Bewlay, chief underwriting officer of AXA Group and a member of the group management committee, who stressed the urgent need for gender equality and the essential role women will play in shaping the future of re/insurance.
While acknowledging the progress made in promoting women into leadership roles, Bewlay highlighted that significant work remains to be done. As the industry faces evolving risks, women will play a vital role in shaping the future of re/insurance, offering their unique perspectives, leadership, and innovation to move the industry forward.
Guidée said: “We aim to gather leading and up-and-coming female figures across the industry: those working with carriers, brokers, regulators and the media. We want to come together to promote a thriving community of current and future female leaders. For me, that will be a key feature in Monte Carlo and integral to the industry’s future success.”
