Survey participants recognise talent

Reputation, client services, innovation and sheer size have all proved popular among the 2013 Global Awards Survey nominees but, as the survey enters its final week, raw talent remains one of the most important qualities cedants seek in their business partners.
This is what a recent snapshot of responses to Intelligent Insurer's annual Global Awards Survey revealed. Brokers Lockton and Besso both received nominations recently based on the calibre of their staff. One respondent described Besso’s employees as “quality”, while another said that Lockton’s people “really have their fingers on the pulse”. Both companies were praised for being “huge innovators in the market”.
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) was highly commended for its expertise and client service with regards to the firm’s talent. One survey participant said: “PwC are regarded highly, especially the work of Dan Schwarzmann on the restructuring side of things.”

Meanwhile, Berkshire Hathaway’s Ajit Jain, AWAC’s Julian James and SCOR’s Denis Kessler are among those that have been named as pioneers as individuals. Respondents described Jain as “absolutely preeminent as a leader of the industry” and James as “a future leader”. Kessler was credited for showing how “strong leadership can transform a company”.

The survey is a comprehensive market research project covering the reinsurance sector being conducted by the research team at Intelligent Insurer. The results of the survey will be revealed at a ceremony at the Monte Carlo Rendez-vous on Sunday September 8.
