Best Reinsurance Broker for Client Responsiveness (revenues of less than $1bn) winner: JLT Towers Re
The broker was celebrated for its excellent service and attention to clients. One respondent said that JLT Towers Re provides a “tailor-made approach to each client’s needs”, while another added that the group provides a “proactive and knowledgeable service”.
The team were applauded by a number of respondents for their knowledge of accounts and responsiveness. One respondent felt that the team work hard for their clients and “really go to the mat for them”.
Another added that there was a “strong focus on relationship management. JLT Towers Re facilitates the reinsurer/client relationship well”. Many respondents noted the driven and determined nature of the staff at the broker and the support offered.
A number of respondents also commended the broker on its willingness to look for alternative solutions.
Matrix Brokers took second place with a score of 6.26. It was praised consistently for its professional and client-focused approach.
One respondent said: “Matrix is the leader in the markets of Greece and Cyprus, and the company continues to regard each customer as an invaluable partner.” Another added that “Matrix is available at all times”, while a different respondent said the group adds “real value”.
The broker’s team received a number of positive comments, including “ambitious”, “professional” and “dynamic”. One respondent said the team offered a “high quality and innovative service”, while a number of respondents made positive comments on the team’s ability to listen effectively.
BMS secured third place with a score of 6.21 out of 10. According to one respondent BMS “stands out of the crowd” with regard to its client service. Another added that the specialist broker was highly rated for its client focus.
TigerRisk Partners, the privately held reinsurance broker and risk/capital management advisor, took fourth place with a score of 6.14. With a team of experienced experts the broker prides itself on a unique and senior-level attention to clients and relationships.
Respondents explained that the broker had a small number of large clients which allows for a “more personal touch”. Another respondent said that it “provided everything to everybody”.
The team was highly commended by a number of respondents, with one adding that “they have a good analytics and technical backing behind them that they give to their clients.” Another respondent added that the responsiveness and quality of work from the team was a reason for commending TigerRisk Partners.
One respondent said that the firm has a “small but very talented team”, while another added that the broker is “growing and focused on service”.
Cooper Gay, which is part of Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford, took fifth place with a score of 6.09. It was commended for its responsiveness and excellent service.
The team was applauded as hardworking and always delivering on time. One respondent added that the firm always “makes an effort with smaller clients”.
The companies in the shortlists seen here were selected based on the first stage of the research, conducted via phone interviews and open online polls. Respondents were asked to name three companies they regard highly in this category. They were then asked to give details of why they had chosen these firms.
The shortlist for this category reflects the companies mentioned the most frequently.
The researchers then approached the market a second time and, using this shortlist presented in a random order, asked respondents to score each company out of ten based on how they perceive the firm based on the criteria of this category. It is the results of this part of the survey that are shown here.
More than 500 respondents took part in each part of the survey respectively.
The score shows the average score out of ten that each company received in stage two of the survey.
