Sompo plucks Swiss Re executive for key P&C role in Europe
Sompo Holdings has hired a Swiss Re executive to lead its risk control services for commercial property and casualty (P&C) across Continental Europe.
Malwine Tewes has been appointed as head of risk control for Sompo’s Continental Europe (CE) commercial P&C insurance operation.
Based in Cologne, Germany, Tewes will report to Ralph Brand, president of CE insurance.
In her newly created role, Tewes will manage the design and delivery of risk control programmes across Sompo’s P&C offering while overseeing the risk control team located throughout the region.
Tewe joins Sompo from Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, where she spent eight months as senior risk engineer and vice president. Prior to that, she served four years at FM Insurance Europe S.A.and a year at FM Global. She also spent 11 years at Bombardier where she grew to the role of head of risk engineering for global risk management and insurance.
