Ferratum appoints new group chief risk officer
Ferratum, an international provider of mobile banking and loans, has appointed Daniel Kliem as chief risk officer for the group.
He succeeds Clemens Krause, who will continue to serve as a member of the board of directors of Ferratum. Kliem joined Ferratum on October 1, 2020 and was appointed a member of Ferratum’s leadership team on the same date.
Kliem has 17 years of managerial experience in the field of risk and credit scoring and joins Ferratum from MA Data Consulting where he was director, Lead Digital Innovation Lab.
Prior to this, he was managing director of Creditsafe Germany, the world’s most used provider of online business credit reports. He spent more than 10 years at American Express, first as vice president & country risk officer in Germany and Austria while later assuming further responsibilities for Sweden, Finland, Netherlands and France. He also served as chief risk officer at Lendico Global Services.
Kliem joins Ferratum as the group continues to roll out new products and services. He will play a key role in further improving Ferratum’s risk capabilities as the group implements its growth plans.
“I would like to take the opportunity to thank Clemens for his valuable contribution and the great cooperation we’ve had over the years,” said Ferratum’s CEO, Jorma Jokela.
“Clemens has played a vital role in the growth of Ferratum, both in his role as CFO and later as CRO and will continue to do so as a member of the board of directors.
“I am, in addition, delighted to see a person with such a strong background in the payments industry and risk management as Daniel has, joining the Ferratum family and further strengthen the risk function which naturally plays a key role in the future of the group.”
