Marsh taps digital, cyber experts from MS Amlin and Willis to leverage emerging technologies

Broker Marsh has recruited senior cyber, cryptocurrency and digital asset insurance experts from MS Amlin and Willis Towers Watson for its UK financial & professional (FINPRO) practice.

Adam Wickens joins as digital asset leader and Brian Warszona as cyber growth leader.

In this newly created position, Wickens will be responsible for development of new insurance solutions for digital assets such as cryptocurrency. He will also work closely with Marsh JLT Specialty’s New York based Digital Asset Risk Transfer (DART) team, which offers risk transfer solutions to firms operating in the blockchain, cryptocurrency, and digital asset arena. Based in London, he will report to Ariel Berman, head of financial institutions, UK FINPRO practice, Marsh JLT Specialty.

Wickens, who specialises in the cryptocurrency and digital asset space, joins Marsh JLT Specialty from MS Amlin, where he was a senior underwriter in its financial institutions division. During his 20 year career, he has also held senior positions at AXA, Barbican, and ACE.

Warszona, who is expected to join the firm by the end of 2019, will work with clients across the UK and Europe to deliver the cyber risk management, risk financing, and insurance solutions, and play a significant role in the strategic development of Marsh’s cyber insurance offering. He will report to Sarah Stephens, UK cyber, media and E&O practice leader, UK FINPRO practice, Marsh JLT Specialty.

Warszona started his career in 2007 with Marsh, and was a placement specialist responsible for financial lines in the firm’s Chicago office from 2011-2013. He was also a senior underwriter with ACE for two years. He returns to Marsh from Willis Towers Watson, where he was a divisional director responsible for cyber risk, based in London.

Paul Denny, UK CEO, FINPRO practice, Marsh JLT Specialty, said: “Clients require solutions that tap into the latest thinking and resources to mitigate issues such as data security and privacy, while enabling them to take advantage of rapidly-evolving technologies such as blockchain. Adam and Brian are two of the leading experts in the cyber, cryptocurrency and digital asset insurance space. Both will play important roles in supporting clients by delivering the effective and efficient insurance and risk management strategies they require.”
