JLT Re grows Bermuda operation with Somerset hire
Reinsurance broker and consultant JLT Re has hired Somerset executive Nicolas Bardon as a partner in its Bermuda operations, reporting to head of the office Guy Hengesbaugh.
The appointment is a part of JLT's strategy to grow its Bermuda operation, further expanding its international reach.
"We have seen our operation in Bermuda more than double in size over the last 4 years and have benefited from JLT Re’s growing international reach and expertise," said Hengesbaugh.
"Nicolas is a great addition to the team and we welcome his experience and ability in not just reinsurance but also banking and finance. He will be an invaluable asset to our clients as we continue to expand in Bermuda," Hengesbaugh added. "Our focus on understanding the long term needs of our clients combined with a more innovative approach to finding the right solutions means our team will continue to build on its success in this important market place."
The company said that Bardon will work closely with Gary Reynolds and others on the ILW team in Bermuda, London and New York.
Bardon led the business development and production at Somerset Holdings since 2013. Prior to that, he worked in the banking sector holding key positions at CitiGroup and Bank of NY Mellon.
