Ed swoops for Saudi Re hire as treaty leader in MENA, India
Broker Ed has hired Souvik Goswami in its Dubai office to lead its treaty business across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), as well as India and the Indian sub-continent.
Goswami most recently served as head of non-life underwriting, facultative and treaty at Saudi Re.
In his new role at Ed, Goswami will focus on new business opportunities in the region and on strengthening the firm’s relationships with clients. He will report to Minesh Jani, CEO of Ed’s operations across these regions.
Jani said: “Souvik’s a first-class addition to the team – and will make a significant impact on our service. Not only does he know the MENA and South Asian markets inside out, he’s also highly-respected by clients within those markets. Together with his strengths in analytics, he’s ideally-placed to leverage the new technical and analytical capabilities which Ed has been investing in.”
Souvik commented: “The many years I’ve spent working in this region have given me a clear insight into what works well in the broking sector, and what causes frustrations for clients. I’m delighted to be joining a growing business that is determined to take on those issues and offer something different.”
