Ed poaches Charles Taylor's chief actuary
Reinsurance, wholesale and specialty broker Ed has appointment Jonathan Tilman as chief actuary.
In his new role, Tilman will be responsible for establishing a global actuarial and analytics capability at Ed. He will take up the role in the final quarter of 2017.
Tilman joins Ed from Charles Taylor Managing Agency where he served as chief actuary. He has over thirty years of London Market experience.
Prior to Charles Taylor, Tilman held the role of EVP and chief actuary of the insurance division at Axis Capital. He has also held senior actuarial roles at Tillinghast Towers Perrin and Guy Carpenter. He began his career in 1986 at The Hartford.
Steve Hearn, CEO of Ed, said: "Jonathan joins us to establish a global actuarial and analytical capability. This is another major step forward for our business. We are now attracting the market’s best people and our unconflicted business model is providing a crucial edge against our peers.
"The development of a cutting-edge platform which will provide us with the analytical capabilities that will define our business has been a key goal since our launch. Jonathan has the vision, experience and drive to make this a reality. I am delighted to welcome him to Ed."
