Africa’s Continental Reinsurance makes board changes

Continental Reinsurance has appointed Ajibola Olusanya Ogunshola and Emmanuel Brule as non-executive directors of the company.

Ogunshola and Brule will replace Nadia Alaoui Fettah and Merrick Wayne Oeschger, who are leaving the board of the Nigeria headquartered reinsurance company.

Ogunshola was the representative of UK’s Institute of Actuaries in Nigeria from 1973 to 1996 and a member of the International Association of Actuaries.

Prior to this, Ogunshola worked for National Insurance Corporation of Nigeria as the first head of its life division; Niger Insurance as chief executive and later managing director, and at Eaglestar Insurance.

Ogunshola has served as the chairman and president of various actuarial committees in Nigeria, and also some government organisations in several capacities.

Brule is currently the deputy chief executive officer of Saham Finances and a member of its executive committee.

Brule has held a number of senior executive roles with Scor Global and AIG in the past.
