McGill rehires former structured solutions head after brief stint at Vesttoo

Re/insurance broker McGill and Partners has rehired its former head of structured solutions after a brief stint at troubled insurer Vesttoo, where he held a global role before being placed on garden leave. He is rejoining McGill as a partner in a strategic role.

Brian Kirwan has joined McGill and Partners again. Based in London, he will assist in developing “key strategic initiatives”. 

Kirwan has over 30 years of experience in the London market, most recently serving as global head of non life at Vesttoo. He joined Vesttoo in March 2022 as general manager UK and Europe.

Prior to that, Kirwan was partner, head of structured solutions at McGill and Partners. Previously, he also served as CEO of Allianz UK.

Commenting on his new role on LinkedIn, Kirwan said: “Excited to be back with McGill and Partners helping with some key strategic initiatives.”
