Lockton swoops on rival WTW for new Swedish CEO in growth push
Global broker Lockton has lured WTW Sweden chief executive officer (CEO) to lead its Swedish operations, marking the latest hire in its Nordic growth strategy.
Johan Lindvall (pictured) has been appointed as CEO of Lockton Sweden AB, joining in due course. William L’Orange will continue to serve as CEO of Lockton Sweden AB until Lindvall’s arrival.
Lindvall has over 20 years of experience and joins from Willis Towers Watson Sweden, where he has served as CEO. Lindvall has also managed Willis Towers Watson’s ‘Affinity’ insurance tech operation in Northern Europe since 2013. Prior to this, he held roles at Aon and Norwegian insurance firm Protector Forsikring.
The company said Lindvall’s appointment represents a “key milestone” for Lockton’s growth strategy in the Nordics. It follows the opening of the Stockholm office in January 2023 and a series of hires; namely senior vice presidents Johan Frithioff and Linda Fihlen, as well as vice president Niklas Thorell, who all joined from Howden. The team is further strengthened by Nordic insurance and risk management expert Christer Witeus.
The broker aims to build its offering across segments, industry verticals and specialties, focused on high-growth areas including multinational clients, embedded insurance, transactional risk & private equity, marine, professional and financial risk, energy, and real estate.
