Zurich appoints former Generali COO as Germany CEO
Carsten Schildknecht is set to replace Marcus Nagel as Zurich Germany CEO from February 2, according to a press release.
Nagel has decided to leave the company to pursue new opportunities. Schildknecht was Generali group chief operating officer between 2013 and 2016. In 2017 he became advisor and investor for startups in banking and insurance.
Schildknecht will further develop the profitable growth of the German business and support Zurich’s strategy of innovation and simplification for customers, Gary Shaughnessy, Zurich CEO Europe, Middle East & Africa, commented. His expertise in financial technology (fintech) will help implementing technological innovation, Shaughnessy added.
