Zego partners with Ryde to launch flexible insurance for delivery fleet
Motor insurtech Zego, a provider of pay-as-you-go insurance, has partnered with UK-based delivery logistics company Ryde to provide flexible insurance to the delivery fleet.
The partnership will enable Ryde to offer couriers flexible insurance products and introduce insurance management tools across its platform.
The collaboration will see Zego integrate its bespoke insurance validation API into Ryde’s platform allowing Ryde to simplify the onboarding process of new drivers while ensuring the fleet of drivers has valid, cost-effective insurance in place. Furthermore, it claims the integration will “eradicate the possibility of insurance fraud” - a practice that not only creates an operational risk to Ryde but also negatively impacts the premiums of other drivers.
Ryde’s riders and drivers will be able to access Zego's monthly, annual and flexible policies. The new partnership will make it easy for riders to choose which policy suits them best.
Duncan Mitchell, CEO of Ryde, said: “Ryde’s mission is to give businesses of all sizes access to leading delivery capabilities. The pandemic and wider consumer trends both highlight the growing importance of being able to offer speedy delivery - as more consumers enjoy online shopping, food and grocery delivery to home. While we focus on growing our network, it is important to have this partnership with Zego to focus fully on our mission, knowing insurance is covered.”
Sten Saar, CEO of Zego added: “Our partnership with Ryde is a textbook example of why we started Zego. Via our API integration, we will be able to give Ryde’s fleet managers hours back a week while ensuring that their fleet has access to a cost-effective, flexible insurance solution.”
