XL Catlin taps QBE exec to head cyber and technology, international
Re/insurer XL Catlin has appointed James Tuplin as head of cyber and technology for its international region, which excludes the US, Canada and Bermuda.
In his new role, Tuplin will be based in London and be responsible for the underwriting of cyber insurance, as well as professional indemnity insurance for the technology and media sectors.
Tuplin joins XL Catlin from QBE where he served as cyber and TMT portfolio manager, with responsibility for growing the cyber portfolio in Europe.
Prior to that, he served as senior technology PI and cyber underwriter at Allianz Insurance. Tuplin has previously spent 10 years at Zurich Global Corporate, where he held various underwriting positions specialising in errors and omissions (E&O) and professional indemnity insurance, in the UK and Canada.
Louise Dennerståhl, head of international financial lines – insurance at XL Catlin, said: "There is a clear requirement for cyber coverage amongst clients and we are delighted that James has joined us as head of cyber and TMT.
