WTW nabs former Zurich leader for pricing & underwriting transformation
Global broker WTW (Willis Towers Watson) has tapped a former Zurich and EY leader to help accelerate the company’s commercial lines pricing and underwriting transformation.
Taffy Jo Mayers (pictured) joins the company’s Insurance Consulting and Technology business to lead the unit’s commercial lines pricing and underwriting propositions in order to help insurers modernise and thrive in an evolving market.
Mayers most recently served as head of commercial P&C and specialty insurance and underwriting transformation for EY North America. In that role, she was responsible for identifying and developing strategies and technologies to assist commercial insurance carriers with automation and business modernisation initiatives to scale and future proof their operations. Prior to that, Mayers held several leadership roles at Zurich North America, including head of middle markets underwriting transformation.
Charlie Kefford, global product leader, P&C Insurance Technology, WTW, said: “ WTW has an established track record of leading the market through digital change in pricing and underwriting. We continue to invest, ensuring that our capability remains at the cutting-edge of market practice, which is developing rapidly as the pace of digitalisation accelerates. I am delighted that Taffy Jo has joined our team. She has an outstanding track record in this area and brings significant experience and capability to further develop our solutions and grow our team.”
Mayers commented: “This is a very exciting time to be in commercial insurance. Our industry has an impressive history of providing both economic and social support when it matters most. In order to continue to provide this protection, the industry must evolve how we go to market to provide the best user experience for the insureds, distribution partners and underwriting professionals. I look forward to being part of the fantastic work WTW is doing to create these future-focused industry solutions.”
