WTW appoints new head of broking in its largest geography
Broker Willis Towers Watson has appointed new broking leaders to lead its North America operations and mid-market strategy, as well as driving the transformation of digital broking.
Jon Drummond (pictured) has been named head of broking North America. Based in Chicago, he will report to Mike Liss.
The broking leadership team has been further strengthened with the appointment of Matt Romano as its new head of Mid-Market Broking Solutions (MMBS) business.
WTW's MMBS business includes differentiated broking solutions (DBS) facilities, panels, select broking, premium finance, and the Homestead Group Captive. MMBS is a core component of its overall middle market (MM) strategy with businesses having annualised premiums approaching $500 million.
Drummond joined Willis Towers Watson in 2014 and was previously head of casualty broking for the North America casualty broking business. Prior to joining WTW, he worked at Aon within their national casualty practice.
Romano joined WTW in 2007 in the Scottsdale, Arizona market, as a broker, before becoming a client advocate specialising in healthcare. In 2017 he returned to broking to run several broking operations in the West Region.
Liss, head of corporate risk and broking, North America, at Willis Towers Watson, said: “We’re pleased to appoint Jon to this important role. He is a respected leader within the insurance industry and is uniquely suited to lead our broking team in our largest geography. The evolution of our digital broking platform will strengthen our market position while continuing to deliver the best possible client outcomes across all global insurance markets.”
