WR Berkley appoints new strategic leader for Berkley Southeast

US commercial property/casualty insurer  WR Berkley Corporation has appointed a “strategic leader” with 30 years of experience to the role of president of Berkley Southeast Insurance Group.

In this role, Jay Weber will succeed Dennis Barger, who has been named chairman of the business.

Weber, a seasoned leader in the commercial property and casualty insurance industry, has over 30 years of experience serving small to mid-sized businesses. Prior to his current position, he held the role of business development leader for North America at a global insurance provider.

Barger joined Berkley Southeast as president upon its formation in 2013. As chairman, he will continue to support the Berkley Southeast team through the transition and will remain a key member of its team.
