Willis Towers Watson replaces head of Iberia business

Willis Towers Watson (WLTW) has named Alberto Gallego as the new head of Iberia.

Based in Madrid, Gallego will lead the businesses in Spain and Portugal, where Willis Towers Watson has a network of 22 offices.

Anton Serrats, the current head of Iberia, will take on the role of vice president of Willis Towers Watson Iberia.

Alongside the head of Iberia role, Gallego will continue in his current position as head of corporate risk and broking for Western Europe, which he started in early 2016.

Gallego joined Willis Towers Watson in 1990 and has held a series of senior leadership positions. He was chief operating officer of Iberia from 1990 to 2013, when he became CEO of Western Europe.

Paul Morris, head of Western Europe, Willis Towers Watson, said: "We see strong potential to develop our well-established presence in Iberia, across a diverse range of business solutions and segments.

"Alberto will draw on his extensive local and global experience to lead further growth and expansion in this important market. He will also continue to drive revenues across the Western Europe region as the leader of Corporate Risk and Broking.

"I would like to thank Anton for his long and distinguished leadership of the Iberian business, and for growing it to such a market-leading position."
