Willis Towers Watson bolsters NA broking business with new roles

Willis Towers Watson has made a series of senior appointments to newly-created roles in its North America corporate risk and broking (CRB) business.

The moves are part of the company’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its broking platform to deliver specialized expertise and leading insurance market solutions to clients.

Sandie Mullen has been appointed head of life sciences and pharmaceutical casualty broking, North America. She will be responsible for delivering highly specialized casualty insurance coverage solutions for life sciences clients.

Mullen joined Willis Towers Watson from RT Specialty where she served as senior vice president, national life sciences practice leader. She is based in Kansas City and reports to Joe Peiser, head of Broking North America, and John Connolly, life sciences industry leader for North America.

Joseph LaRocco has been appointed head of carrier management, North America. He will be responsible for engaging with, and building relationships across, the company’s key property/casualty trading partners. He will work closely with key partners during complex insurance placements and focus on developing innovative coverage solutions.

LaRocco joined Willis Towers Watson in 2012 as midwest regional broking officer. He is based in Chicago and reports to Andrew Jackson, global head of carrier management, and Peiser.

Raymond Gahwyler has been appointed head of operations for North America broking. He will be responsible for helping the company transform its broking platform. Gahwyler joined Willis Towers Watson in 2015 as regional operating officer for the Northeast region. Based in New York, he reports to Peiser.

Peiser said: "We are thrilled to announce these appointments. Sandie and Joe each have acclaimed reputations in the marketplace, while Ray has an outstanding track record of helping us achieve operational excellence. We are committed to optimizing our broking platform to enhance the client experience."
