Willis Towers Watson appoints ex-Aon to lead key markets in Asia
Broker Willis Towers Watson has appointed a former Aon executive to lead its operations in two ‘key markets’ in Asia.
Ted Hodgkinson (pictured) will assume the leadership of Hong Kong and Macau, in addition to his current position as head of corporate risk and broking in Hong Kong and Macau. He replaces Roger Steel, who retired in September 2021.
Hodgkinson has been with WTW for five years and has more than 20 years of management experience in Asia. Prior to WTW, he had held various leadership roles in the insurance industry including having worked at Aon in Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney.
In his new role, Hodgkinson is responsible for leading and overseeing over 300 colleagues in Willis Towers Watson (WTW) Hong Kong and Macau. He will work closely with business leaders from various business segments across WTW to facilitate service delivery, innovation and growth in these markets. He reports to Clare Muhiudeen, head of Asia, WTW.
“We are extremely pleased to have Ted lead our operations in Hong Kong and Macau, which are key markets for WTW in Asia” said Muhiudeen. “Building on the existing work and ensuring we consistently bring the best of WTW to our clients, I am confident that Ted will continue delivering on our vision and priorities, and position WTW for a successful future in our markets.”
Hodgkinson commented: “I am delighted to take on this opportunity in a permanent capacity, to strengthen our position as a leading company in Hong Kong and Macau. As One WTW, our colleagues work across cultures and borders to bring the best advice, broking and solutions in the areas of people, risk and capital to our clients. We have an exciting journey ahead of us and I look forward to leading our team of dedicated colleagues to bring our unique client value proposition and help our clients address today’s complex challenges and succeed.”
