VIG picks former Austrian Finance Minister to replace CEO Stadler
Vienna insurance Group (VIG) will forward former Austrian Finance Minister and recent management appointee Hartwig Löger (pictured) to take the reins as CEO following the departure of Elisabeth Stadler.
The VIG supervisory board will consider the suggestion from its nomination committee on November 29, VIG said in its statement.
Löger, Austria's Minister of Finance from 2017 to 2019, has been with VIG since 2021. His career in insurance began 37 years ago at Aon and proceeded through Allianz, Grazer Wechselseitige, Donau and Uniqa prior to the ministerial post.
Stadler will stand down from her post as CEO of the Vienna Insurance Group after seven and a half years at the helm when her current term expires.
Stadler came to VIG in 2016 after posts atop Austria's Donau Versicherung and ERGO Austria International. Her CV also brags of posts at Raiffeisen, UNIQA and twenty years of rising through the ranks at Bundesländer Versicherung.
