Validus reveals new leadership roles; regroups business to drive growth
Bermuda-based re/insurer Validus Holdings has made several leadership appointments, reflecting an organisational change that results in three new reportable segments - reinsurance, insurance and asset management.
The company has appointed Kean Driscoll as global head of reinsurance, in addition to his roles as president of Validus Holdings and chief executive officer of Validus Reinsurance.
Peter Bilsby, the chief executive officer of Talbot Group, has been given an additional role as global head of insurance.
Furthermore, Lixin Zeng was named global head of asset management business, in addition to his role as chief executive officer of AlphaCat Managers.
Ed Noonan, Validus CEO, said: "These internal appointments are a strong reflection of the depth of the Validus management team and these executives will be responsible for developing strategy and driving profitable growth across our Reinsurance, Insurance and Asset Management businesses, respectively."
The company additionally announced leadership changes in its insurance segment to focus on building out its US insurance platform, a key part of its global strategy.
Bob Livingston has been made chairman of Western World Insurance Group, in addition to his role as chief executive officer of Western World Insurance Group.
Jonathan Ritz, chief executive officer of Validus Specialty, will assume an additional role as president of Western World Insurance Group.
Bilsby commented: "Bob and Jonathan have been integral to the success of our US insurance business. I am looking forward to their continued leadership as we strengthen our existing business and pursue growth and new opportunities in the US market."
