UnderwriteMe hires ex-Swiss Re as head of Asia Pacific
Insurtech firm UnderwriteMe has hired Paul Hughes as head of Asia Pacific to design and implement a growth strategy for the region.
Hughes has worked in the life and health industry in Asia for over 25 years, having held a number of senior roles at Swiss Re, Aviva, AIA and most recently MetLife. These include positions such as chief marketing officer, group head of product, claims & operations transformation and chief underwriter.
He will lead UnderwriteMe's teams in Asia and Australia across all functions, reporting to CEO James Tait.
Tait said: “We have great opportunity for growth across all areas of the business in 2021 and we’re pleased Paul has joined to help take UnderwriteMe to the next level in the Asia-Pacific region. This appointment shows our real intent to transform the global Life Insurance industry through technology.”
