Uinsure partners with WhenFresh to launch ‘Zero Questions Asked’ quotes
General insurer (GI) Uinsure has launched a ‘zero questions asked’ quote platform for UK home insurance in partnership with big data ‘supermarket’ insurtech WhenFresh.
The system works by using WhenFresh’s big data sets, which combine more than 200 residential property and insurance risk and perils datasets, to assess and quote insurance prices for around 30 million residential properties across the country.
David Smith, chief innovation officer at Uinsure, said: “Uinsure’s mission is to change the insurance industry for the better. With our Zero Questions Asked quotes, we’ve once again achieved this and will take a large step forwards towards our goal of a 100 percent GI quote to mortgage penetration rate – improving the outcome for customers across the UK.”
WhenFresh CEO and founder Mark Cunningham added: “Each insurer has a different, and very jealously-guarded ‘secret recipe’ in terms of how they calculate risk and pricing. [Our] API (application programming interface) is effectively a vast supermarket where insurers can buy all the ingredients they need to run their application form prefill, risk, pricing and more – and we’re delighted to be providing the key ingredients to support Uinsure’s ground-breaking solution.”
When Fresh brings together more than 2 billion data items, with comprehensive, accurate results for virtually all residential UK properties. Its API means the data sets can be accessed in standardised formats, so insurers can “cherry-pick the data they want, on a pay-as-you-go basis”, without committing to long-term licenses or paying out for developers or integration with multiple suppliers.
Cunningham praised the insurtech’s partner, saying: “[Uinsure] are agile, early-adopters which is a pretty rare and valuable trait in the world of insurance.”
