Two Sirius senior execs at Lloyd’s managing agency to step down
Both the CEO Mike Dashfield and chairman Göran Thorstensson of Sirius International Managing Agency (SIMA), the Lloyd’s managing agency of Sirius, will be stepping down from their positions at the end of the year.
Succeeded by Robert Harman, who is currently an active underwriter, Dashfield will take a position on the board of director.
A replacement for Thorstensson will be announced by Sirius in due course.
Monica Cramér Manhem, president and CEO of Sirius International, said: “I would like to personally thank both Göran and Mike for their exceptional services to SIMA.Under their leadership the syndicate and managing agency have established a strong presence at Lloyd’s, and they leave it well placed for further development in the future.”
Dashfield has 36 years of experience in insurance, and has worked for Sirius International since 1999.
Dashfield commented: “I am proud of what we have achieved in a relatively short space of time. I am especially delighted that Robert will be taking up the position of CEO. We have worked closely together for years and he is an extremely talented individual and the natural successor.”
Harman has 20 years of insurance experience and has worked at Sirius International since 2005. As he transitions to the role of CEO, he will be replaced as active underwriter by Simon Acland, an underwriter at Sirius International since 2008.
Thorstensson, who has been chairman of the managing agency since its inception in 2014, commented: “SIMA has had a wonderful journey becoming a successful Lloyd’s Syndicate and, more recently, becoming part of China Minsheng Investments (CMI), and I’d like to thank Mike for his excellent services during that time. I am confident that the managing agency, like the whole of Sirius International has an exciting future ahead.”
