Twelve Capital targets expansion in new European markets
Twelve Capital, an investment firm specialising in insurance, has hired two senior distribution specialists to focus on the UK and Benelux/Nordics markets as it seeks to expand its distribution efforts under its new BaFin licence.
The company’s new BaFin licence allows it to operate in Germany as an investment broker and investment advisor. The licence was passported to allow Twelve Capital to target eligible clients across the EEA.
Damian Brannan joined Twelve Capital as executive director of distribution for the UK. He has over 20 years experience in asset management, across investment, management and sales roles, with a particular focus on alternatives and global equity strategies.
Jan Peters is executive director of distribution for Benelux and Nordics. He previously spent 13 years with Western Asset Management in London, responsible for client services and marketing in the Benelux and the Nordic regions.
Twelve Capital is also partnering with Selinca AV to enter the Italian and Spanish markets, and is expanding its fundraising efforts in new European countries.
Manuel Lopez, chief executive officer of Selinca AV, said: “Our investor base is seeking specialist funds to diversify their risk and expand their opportunity set. We believe that Twelve Capital’s investment strategies can provide this, due to their low correlation to traditional risk assets and their focus on insurance related asset classes.”
Nils Ossenbrink, managing director for products and distribution at Twelve Capital, said: “We are glad to see increased demand from additional markets and having the opportunity to have very experienced resources working for the company. With these appointments Twelve is further building up the European distribution.”
