Tokio Millennium Re's O’Flynn joins Ariel Re as head of professional lines

Ariel Re, a subsidiary of Bermuda-based Argo Group, has hired Stephen O’Flynn as head of professional lines and casualty treaty underwriting – Bermuda.

O’Flynn joins the company from Tokio Millennium Re, where he most recently served as executive vice president, head of underwriting in Bermuda. He began his career in 1995 working as a casualty facultative underwriter for General Reinsurance Corporation, with subsequent roles at Allied World Reinsurance.

In his new role, O’Flynn will be responsible for establishing, underwriting and growing the US professional lines and casualty book of business. He will report to Matthew Wilken, deputy global head of reinsurance at Ariel Re.

“Stephen has a long history of growing profitable books of business, setting underwriting strategy and assessing performance,” said Wilken. “His extensive knowledge and experience in the professional lines and casualty treaty markets will advance the achievement of Ariel Re’s long-term strategic goals. We are pleased to welcome Stephen to the team.”
