Tokio Marine restructures London Market businesses to target ‘growth and efficiency’

Tokio Marine HCC International (TMHCCI), a member of the Tokio Marine group of companies, has moved to restructure its London Market marine, energy and renewables businesses to facilitate future growth and drive greater efficiencies.

As part of this restructure, these lines of business will be brought under one operating structure which will be headed up by the recently appointed Ben Kinder.

Kinder, who has joined the Company from Zurich where he was head of energy casualty, has been appointed to the role of chief underwriting officer for marine, energy and renewables.

He has over 25 years’ experience providing risk transfer solutions to global marine and energy companies and has been tasked with creating a more integrated offering across these key lines of business.

Kinder will report to Simon Button, chief underwriting officer – London Market, who said: “Our London Market operations are a central component of TMHCCI’s overall business, and they play a key role in the wider market.”

“While we have enjoyed considerable success to date, our ambition is to keep growing, while still providing the same level of expertise and service to clients and brokers alike.”

“The addition of Ben’s formidable skills and experience to the team will allow us to do that.”
